Weekly Message - November 2-6

It almost feels like the school year started, we blinked, and now it’s November! Fall break is just around the corner, but there are quite a few events and activities throughout the coming month. Please see the Week Ahead section at the end of this update for more details of the activities this week.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays

School Council is excited to continue with Healthy Hunger as an easy way to order special lunches! Please register and order on the Healthy Hunger website. A big THANK YOU goes to all the volunteers who come every week to distribute the lunches to the classrooms and students.  This is a huge fundraiser during the school year, and we couldn’t do it without you!

Veterans Food Drive ends November 18

We are collecting non-perishable food items for the Veterans Association Food Bank (canned tuna, coffee, sugar, pasta, pasta sauce, canned fruit and vegetables, pudding, canned beans, etc.). Families can make a financial donation to the Veteran's Food Bank of Alberta if they wish. Cash donations can be made in homeroom classes, or online donations can be made at  https://veteransfoodbankalberta.ca/donate.

Here are a few important details:

  • The food drive will run for three weeks.
  • Grade 9 Leadership students will collect donations from homerooms on the morning of Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
  • Please keep your box in a visible, designated spot in your classroom.
  • Students are also encouraged to contribute money to the food drive. An envelope for cash donations will be delivered by our students later this week.
  • Each homeroom will receive a scorecard listing requested food items and their assigned point values. The homeroom with the highest total points in each grade will win a pizza party!

Thank you for supporting our Grade 9 Leadership students and helping us make a difference in our community.

Activity Day – Dec. 3, 2026

We are still requiring a large number of volunteers for our activity day trips.  If you have your security clearance already complete at CNG, we need your help! Please email Ms Connolley (alconnolley@cbe.ab.ca) to get the correct form for the trip you are wanting to help with.
