Weekly Message - January 5-9

Happy Holidays to everyone from the staff of Captain Nichola Goddard School! We hope that the break will be restful and that families have an opportunity to spend time together. Regular classes resume on Monday, January 5.

Veterans Food Drive

Congratulations to our Food Drive homeroom winners! Third place goes to 8.7 (Mr. Dey), second place to 7.4 (Ms. Floyd), and first place to 6.4 (Mrs. de Jong). Our food drive was a great success and will provide meaningful support to veterans in the Calgary area who are facing food insecurity and financial challenges. Thank you to our entire school community for the generosity and care you showed in supporting this important initiative.

Report Cards

This year, report cards will be sent home electronically at the end of February. All families will be able to access their child’s report card through a tab titled Report Card in My CBE at that time. The timing of the report cards is delayed this year due to the learning interruption of the ATA strike. The structure of the semesters and option courses have not changed, and students will transition to their new option courses at the end of January.

Heathy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays

Don’t forget to order your fun lunch at HealthyHunger.ca. The money raised from Healthy Hunger goes toward supporting the school program in a variety of ways. Many exciting events coming up this year will also benefit from this fundraising program.

School Council – January 21, 2026

Our next council meeting will be held Wednesday, January 21 at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons. Please join us if you can.

Winter Band Concert

Our winter band concert is coming up on January 14 at 6:00pm in the gym.  All band students must be in their designated warm-up space at the school by 5:30pm to be ready for the 6:00pm start. More information to come soon.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to our grade 9 student Elena L. who was awarded a scholarship from our guest Band Clinician (Kathie Van Lare) to attend the GIRLS IN JAZZ workshop this winter.
