Weekly Message - January 19-23
Well, January is moving along at a very rapid pace. It’s hard to believe we are only two weeks away from February, but the recent warm weather has been nice to enjoy this month.
The interschool volleyball season is underway, and our teams are practicing hard. Competition against other schools begins with games during the last week of January. Our Winter Concert took place last Wednesday evening and was a great success.
Spirit Week
Our grade nine leadership class is finishing off their term by organizing a spirit week. This week all students are encourage to participate and join in the fun:
Monday - Fancy Dress - show off your best outfits and dress to impress
Tuesday - Twin Day - get matchy-matchy with someone else in the school
Wednesday - Teacher Student Swap Day - dress like one of your teachers and maybe they'll be dressed like you
Thursday - Culture Day - show your heritage and represent
Friday - Pajama Day - it's comfy and cozy
School Council Meeting
All parents are invited to attend the next School Council meeting on Wednesday, January 21, at 6:30 pm in the Learning Commons.
Report Cards
Report cards are being shared electronically this year and will be available on Tuesday, February 24. For instructions on how to access the online version click here.
Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Volunteers Needed
Each week, the School Council offers Healthy Hunger as an easy way to order special lunches. Please register and order on the Healthy Hunger website. This opportunity is an important fundraising activity for the school and gives students a chance to enjoy a variety of lunch options throughout the school year.
We are in need of volunteers to help make this program successful; without parent volunteers, we might be unable to keep the program running. It is only 1 - 1 1/2 hours on a Tuesday or Wednesday and doesn't need to be every week. If you can help, please sign up here for the days you are available.
If you have any questions regarding the fun lunch program, please do not hesitate to contact Wilma Wong at cngsfunlunch@gmail.com
Thank you for your support!
High School & Alternative Program Open Houses
CBE schools that offer alternative programs, and high schools have open house events throughout the first months of the year. All of the events are listed on the CBE website. Our designated high school, North Trail High School, is not hosting an open house, but our grade nine students will tour the school on Tuesday, January 27. Details of the North Trail tour have been shared through homerooms.
