Weekly Message - December 15-19

The excitement is building for winter break! Sweaters and Santa hats are making a regular appearance throughout the school, and energy levels are building. We have a full five-day week before the break which begins on Saturday, December 20. This week is Spirit Week and each day has a different theme listed below.

Spirit Week – Holiday Theme

This week everyone is invited to join our winter holiday spirit week. Let’s have some fun before heading into winter break! Monday is Wear red and green, Tuesday is Wear your Christmas gear, (e.g. Elf ears, Santa hat, reindeer antlers), Wednesday is dress up as your favourite Christmas movie characters (ex: Grinch, Rudolph, Kevin McCallister etc.), Thursday is ugly Christmas sweaters and Friday is pajama day (especially Christmas pajamas).

Scholastic Book Fair – Thank you!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair this week!  It’s always so great to see our students buzzing with excitement during the Fair!  It was another great success, with over $2,000 raised to add more books to our school!

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch – Tuesdays & Wednesdays

We are extremely fortunate to continue offering Healthy Hunger as an easy way to order special lunches! Please register and order on the Healthy Hunger website.  We are grateful to our dedicated group of parents who support this initiative, offering Healthy Hunger weekly is uncommon, and we could not do it without you.

We’re happy to bring back the Earn-a-Bike program with our partners at Two Wheel View. Application forms are available in the Foods and Construction labs, and completed forms can be returned to Ms. Brinker or Ms. Muldrew by December 16. There are 15 spots this year, and the club is open to students in grades 7 to 9. Successful applicants will be informed prior to Winter Break in preparation for the first session on Thursday, January 8 from 3:00–5:00pm.
